To Win The Lost
Lifegate Baptist Church is a missions-minded church. We assist in the regular support of missionaries and ministries around the world including our own country (Matthew 28:19-20). We want to have an increasing part in the spread of the gospel "Unto the uttermost parts of the earth" and win the lost to Christ in our own city as well (Acts 1:8).
To Teach The Bible
We emphasize that the Bible is the only rule of faith and practice for Christians in all matters of life. We know that a verse by verse expository bible teaching ministry produces happy, fulfilled and victorious Christian living (II Timothy 3:16- 17).
To
Exalt Jesus Christ
God Himself instituted the home (Genesis 2), the Church (Matthew 16:18), and civil government (Romans 13) for His glory and our well-being. A great part of our purpose is to promote the cause of Christ, the family and patriotism.
- WE BELIEVE the Bible is the infallible Word of God and the only perfect rule of faith and practice (II Timothy 3:16-17).
- WE BELIEVE in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sacrificial shed blood, death and resurrection. He is the only Saviour (I Corinthians 15:3-4, I Timothy 2:5, Acts 4:12, Hebrews 9:11-12).
- WE BELIEVE that all men are sinners by nature, alienated from God and spiritually dead (Romans 3:10, 23; Ephesians 2:1).
- WE BELIEVE in a literal, eternal heaven for the saved and a literal, eternal hell for the unsaved (Matthew 25:46, Mark 9:43, John 14:1-2).
- WE BELIEVE salvation is a Sovereign act of Grace following repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. A person is saved by the grace of God without any admixture of works (Acts 20:21, Ephesians 2:8-9).
- WE BELIEVE in the authority and work of the local, visible New Testament church today. Every believer should follow the Lord in baptism and unite with a Scriptural church for his spiritual growth and acceptable service to God (Ephesians 3:21, Matthew 16:18, I Timothy 3:15).
- WE BELIEVE in the imminent, personal and premillenial return of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 1:11, Revelation 1:7).
